Welcome to Estacada School District
Estacada School District provides a quality school environment for 2300 public school students. Our service area covers a surprising geographic area of more than 750 square miles of rural Oregon countryside in the Clackamas River area and includes considerable portions of the Mt. Hood National Forest.
Public Notice: The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is working closely with the Oregon Public Health Division (OPHD) regarding recent events concerning the presence of swine flu in the United States. ODE remains committed to the health and safety of students, staff, and community members and encourages school districts to work closely with their county public health department. In the event of a local swine flu outbreak the Oregon Public Health Division, and not the Oregon Department of Education, will determine if school closure is necessary. Public health, both at the state and local level, is granted by statute the authority to close schools/cancel classes in an emergency or to protect the public’s health (ORS 431.264 and 433.441). ODE will continue to work closely with OPHD and offer new information to school districts as it becomes available.
Personal hygiene and avoiding contact with sick people is still recommended as the best way of preventing transmission of communicable diseases such as influenza. For more information on what you need to know about Swine Flu, visit: www.flu.oregon.gov or http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/qa.htm.
Flu like symptoms include acute respiratory illness, such as fever greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, plus cough or sore throat. Other possible symptoms are runny nose, feeling very lethargic, loss of appetite, and in some cases, nausea, vomiting , and diarrhea.
Estacada School District does not discriminate against an individual's race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, age or disability.
